If you wish to apply for equal status with Danish citizens under this rule, you must fall within Section 2(2) (refugees) or Section 2(3) (aliens granted family reunification with a refugee) or Section 2(4) (other aliens granted family reunification) of the Act on Integration of Aliens in Denmark.

Please be aware that if you want to apply for equal status with Danish citizens because you fall within Section 2(4) (other aliens granted family reunification) of the Act on Integration of Aliens in Denmark, you must have obtained the right to reside in Denmark according to this rule on 1 July 2019 or later.

What we do

We check whether the Danish Immigration Service has registered that you fall or have previously fallen within the Act on Integration of Aliens in Denmark. This will be evident from your residence permit.

You must attach a copy of all the residence permits you have been granted since coming to Denmark. You must attach them as documentation together with the application for equal status for foreign citizens..

If you think there are errors or missing details in your residence permit, you must contact the Danish Immigration Service.
