Increased allowed amount of earnings for students in critical societal alert and extra SU loan after paid internships

Folketinget has just passed a bill containing initiatives that are meant to provide an economical helping hand for students in relation to COVID-19:

Students in critical societal alert

Students who participate in critical societal functions in relation to the COVID-19 alert (e.g. social and healthcare workers, nurses and medical students) will be able to apply for an increased allowed amount of earnings (fribeløb) for 2020. The possible increase corresponds to the salary earned during the alert work.

You will be able to read more about the increased allowed amount of earnings for students here at su.dk under COVID-19 and SU.

Extra SU loan for March and April after paid internships during higher educations

Students in paid internships in March and/or April 2020 as part of their higher education (e.g. pedagogue students and others who have to have an internship during their education) will now also be included by the possibility to take out an extra SU loan or completion loan for March and April 2020. The loan will be available when the paid internship is completed and the student receives SU once again.

Students in paid internships do not have to do anything at the moment but will be able to see how to apply for the extra SU loan here at su.dk under COVID-19 and SU later.

In order to take out the extra SU loan you have to fulfill the regular conditions for SU loan in the months following the paid internship.
